Acoustic vs. Electric guitars

The acoustic guitar produces sound by the strings' vibration, which is amplified by the hollow body of the guitar.

Electric guitars, which were introduced in the 1930s, increase the sounds of the vibrating strings using an amplifier and a speaker.

The guitar is used in a wide variety of musical genres worldwide. It is recognized as a primary instrument in genres such as blues, bluegrass, country, flamenco, folk, jazz, jota, mariachi, metal, punk, reggae, rock and pop.
