Thought of the Week

“Don't speak negatively about yourself (others), even as a joke. Your body doesn't know the difference. Words are energy and cast spells; that's why they call it spelling. Change the way you speak about yourself (others) and you can change your life. What you're not changing you're choosing.”

Family Strengthening Survey

D.C. public and public charter schools are focused on improving mental/behavioral health services available to students and families. Please take a few moments to complete the Strengthening School Behavioral Health Survey to share your thoughts about and experiences with mental/behavioral health and related services at your child’s school.

You can take the survey at the link below:

You will only need to take the survey once, even if you have more than one child attending a D.C. public or public charter school. It will take about 10 minutes to complete, and is available in English, Spanish, or Amharic. Your name will not be connected with the survey so please feel free to share how you feel.

DCPS Mask Policy

DCPS is aware that the CDC and DC Health have recently released updated guidance on mask-wearing. Current DCPS Mask Policy updated as of April 2021 requires that all individuals, including DCPS students, staff, contractors, partners, volunteers, and visitors are required to wear a face mask while in school buildings, on school buses, and while participating in any school-related activities, including physical education and sports. The requirement includes individuals who have been vaccinated against COVID-19.

We want to make all families aware of this policy and humbly ask that you are mindful of this policy when coming to the building.
